Are you genuinely
interested in yourself?
I am!

Or do you not know how?

An App Born from Personal Experience

The BrainFit Society App was developed after I reached a breaking point in my own life. A burnout and a life-changing relationship breakup led me to search for answers. During this journey, I gained many valuable insights into emotions, states of mind, and the power of self-awareness — insights I now genuinely want to use to help others.

The Purpose of This App

This app is my way of giving others exactly the tools and insights that helped me so much at the time. No big words. No heavy diagnoses. Just a practical, human-centered app that helps you reflect, feel, and share.

  • To help people recognize and understand their own emotions.
  • To support preparation for time-consuming and often exhausting intake sessions within regular healthcare.
  • To offer many people who are searching a clear and valuable starting point.
about us hero

You can say that you have to take the journey of your life on your own, but isn’t it helpful to have a guide beside you who offers explanation and occasionally points you in the right direction?

My experiences

As someone with lived experience and a former caregiver, I know how much care and stress you experience by constantly being “on,” both physically and mentally. You give the best of yourself and regularly cross your own boundaries for the “greater good.” Mortality comes close, and you want to be there for the other person as much as possible. At times, you feel powerless. During this period of caregiving, all kinds of emotions and thoughts surface — things you were never trained for; they simply happen to you…

After I collapsed with a burnout, I of course asked for help. However, it can take quite some time before you find the right professional. In my case, it even took three years. During that period, I began my own research. I wanted to discover for myself how to cope with my burnout and everything that came with it.

After consulting many different sources of information, I discovered that the answers were not found in a single subject. It was the combination of multiple aspects. Some of the topics that came up — and that I would like to pass on — include:

  • Gaining insight into your thoughts and emotions
  • Neuroscience
  • Family dynamics
  • The mental thermometer
  • Your defense mechanisms
  • The “Circle of Four”

The above topics are explained further in the app, but on this website I would also like to provide you with additional information through various forms of inspiration.

Music also played an important role in my recovery. One piece of music can often express more than an entire story.

When you start working with this app, it is important to focus on what suits you and what works for you. By making adjustments, you essentially build your own “solution” and naturally find the path that fits you best.

For me, this approach led to many insights. Knots were untangled that I did not even know existed. I wish the same for you.

Whether you are recovering from a burnout or facing a completely different situation is not what matters most. Something “small” can already have a huge impact, and something “big” may be easier to endure than you might have expected beforehand. It is not a competition. What matters is that when things become difficult, you sometimes need support to find your way out again. The BrainFit Society is here to help you with that.

SHARE

I want to share my experiences and personal growth so that everyone has access to the same helpful insights. Whether you are (temporarily) feeling stuck or simply want to work on your personal development, the question is: are you willing to invest in your health — both mentally and physically?

THIS IS HOW I HAVE ALREADY APPLIED MY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

BRAM

He suffered from back pain and, after following the conventional route — visiting his general practitioner and attending physiotherapy — his complaints persisted. With the help of my exercises, his symptoms have almost disappeared. He is now able to get up in the morning with much less pain.

ANONIEM

She used to hum when she woke up and didn’t really understand where it came from. I helped her discover that it stemmed from her early childhood experiences. She now understands much better how family dynamics can continue to influence adult life.

JOOST

He is often restless and doesn’t know where it comes from. He regularly visits a psychologist to talk about it. With the help of my insights, he was able to discover what was really bothering him. As a result, he now knows that he is highly sensitive (HSP) and can cope with his situation much better.

MONIQUE

She is sensitive to light and loud music. With the help of the “mental thermometer,” Monique has become more aware of this and can start working with the advice provided.

We use a thermometer to measure our body temperature. Isn’t it logical to also use a thermometer for our mind?

MARTIN

He is an entrepreneur and exhausted. He survived the COVID period, but he no longer feels fully in control or able to see the bigger picture clearly. With the help of the advice in the app, he learns how to create better structure and regain clarity.

A FEW EINSTEIN QUOTES THAT INSPIRE ME:

“We cannot solve a problem with the same mindset that created it.”

“Imagination is more important than knowledge.”

“I do not carry that kind of knowledge in my head, because I find it easier to look it up in a reference book.”

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.”

“The important thing is not to stop questioning.”

I WISH YOU GREAT SUCCESS AND WISDOM.
